More and more brew masters prefer high level automatic beer system, it will help to save labor and easy operate. The brew master do not need to go up and down stairs to operate the valves etc. But they are also have a concern at the same time about the risk of automatic system is something wrong.
In my personal, I tend to use manual system. Firstly it is most basic configuration, so it seems more easier to understand even for a new brew master. Just simply open/close the valves will be OK if know the brewing process better. And there will not have issues on manual valves.
As to the automatic systems, it is preferred by more and more brew masters in the recent years we think. For example the customer from United States, Australia etc ask for design pneumatic valves into the system with higher automatic level. We think the pneumatic valves technology is more matured than before, also tested many times before delivery. It can be say stable.
But it still has a risk of something wrong due to electric elements exist in the pneumatic valves compare with manual valves. Just like telephone, if there is something wrong with one parts, it may influence complete system running.
But according to our practical experience, it is OK and running well with reasonable operating.(We have beer system in ourselves brewhouse, it configure pneumatic valves).
