Belgian beer culture successfully joined the World Heritage List
Recently, the Belgian capital Brussels held a grand ceremony to celebrate their national beer and beer brewing culture was included in the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
So what makes the Belgian beer being entitled successfully?
The United Nations official website explains: "Beer brewing and savoring is a tradition of Belgian communities, which playing an important role in daily life and festivals. The monastery and communities brewed nearly 1500 kinds of beers. The beer is also used for cooking, making beer cheese and other foods. Beer is particularly popular”.
Inheritance without losing innovation and diversity are the unique feature of Belgian beer. Belgium’s three famous beer- Hoegaarden, Leffe and Stella Artois are the best evidence.
